I got a wild hair and looked at my online pay stub info for my main job this morning and discovered that I got a little pay raise starting with my most recent paycheck! They don't tell us when they give us a raise. They just quietly increase our pay once a year. I think they got tired of being publicly criticized for not giving raises year after year and they adopted the plan of giving tiny, 1% raises each year so no one can say they don't give raises. I wanted to be a 1 percenter, but this was not exactly what I had in mind. I'd love to get a 3-5 percent raise one of these times. That would be awesome.
Chintzy raises aside, I do love my job. And getting a raise, even a small one, is better than not getting a raise. So I am happy to learn of this raise today. I really appreciate my boss on the main job. After tolerating a fair number of egregious A-hole bosses in my day, I feel gifted with this boss who trusts me, has faith in me, and doesn't EVER micro-manage me. She just leaves it up to me and trusts I will do a good job.
So I guess I should get back to doing a good job. Instead of playing. Heaven knows I have a ton of work to do. heh
I am hearing "Passive" by A Perfect Circle. It is one of my favorite songs. ::love::
