2015-11-19 - 3:50 p.m. I don't have time to lay out what is really on my mind today. I'll have to do it over the weekend. I do have time to talk about this weird case I looked at today with my work. Oh muh goodness. My patient has something very weird going on. She is in her mid 30's and here's a little of her history: She apparently cannot stay upright. (I'm not going to diagnose "round heels" because this is *not* funny AT ALL) I joke, but in all seriousness... She keeps falling and passing out and they don't know why so it really isn't a laughing matter, but we've already established that I'm a terrible person so I had to mention the round heels. I have this funny visual of someone comically falling all over the place and being unable to sit on a chair or take a step without falling down and rolling a few times. First, she fell all the way down from a standing position. She was just standing there, minding her own business, and BOOM! She fell down. That happened on 11/10. On 11/12, she fell out of bed because she was trying to reach a shoe that was on the floor. Down she goes. Same day, she "accidentally" ingested some nicotine solution. She claims to have mistaken it for her "soda". I'm pretty sure Nicotine juice doesn't come in a soft drink can and you would think a person could keep up with which brown substance is cola and which is nicotine solution. That whole thing is suspicious. Then, on 11/15, she has a syncopal episode which means she fainted. And on 11/16, she was found next to her bed, unresponsive. They don't know why she is falling all over the place. I wonder if she is an attention seeker and the nicotine thing was her way of trying to come up with another mysterious illness but she got found out so she had to say she accidentally swallowed the stuff. Something this case seems highly suspicious to me. I'm getting a massage in an hour. I've got to wrap up my work day so I can leave on time. ::love:: |
